Gym attendance and check-in software
Balvira is gym attendance and check-in software that offers five ways in, because no two gyms run their door the same way. Scan a rotating QR at the entrance, tap an RFID card, use a fingerprint reader, check in at a kiosk, or let the desk find the member by name — and none of it stops when the internet does.
A code that expires overnight
The QR displayed at the door is derived from the branch and the date, so it changes every day on its own. A screenshot shared with somebody outside the gym stops working tomorrow, which is the entire point of rotating it.
Readers from any vendor
RFID and fingerprint readers are supported without tying a gym to one supplier. A fingerprint never reaches Balvira — the reader matches it on the device and reports only its own identifier, so there is no biometric template in the database to lose.
The desk keeps working offline
Check-ins, new members and payments recorded during an outage queue on the device and sync when the connection returns, without creating duplicates. A gym at six in the morning does not stop because the line is down.
- Daily rotating QR at the door
- The desk scanning the member's own code, for a queue
- Phone check-in within 50 metres, opt-in per branch
- Kiosk mode on a tablet, with no login
Questions people ask
- Does Balvira support biometric attendance?
- Yes. Balvira works with RFID cards and fingerprint readers from any vendor, and a member can also be checked in by QR, by the desk searching their name, at a kiosk, or from their own phone when they are at the gym. A fingerprint never leaves the reader — Balvira stores only the identifier the device reports.
- How does QR check-in work?
- The gym displays a code at the door that changes every day, and a member scans it with their phone. Because it rotates, a screenshot passed to somebody outside the gym stops working the next day. The desk can also scan the member's own code the other way round, which is faster when there is a queue.
- Can members check in from their phone?
- Yes, if the branch has set its location. The member taps check in, their phone reports where it is, and Balvira accepts it only within 50 metres of the gym, telling them how far away they are otherwise. It is opt-in per branch and does not appear at all until an owner turns it on.
- Does Balvira work offline?
- Yes. The front desk keeps working with the internet down — staff can check members in, add a member and record a payment, and everything queues on the device and syncs when the connection returns without creating duplicates. This matters more in Indian gyms than any feature list suggests.
